Construction Begins on Morgue and EOC Addition

Construction has begun on the morgue addition to the Coroner's facility.  This will be a state-of-the-art facility able to operate as a regional autopsy and forensic center.  With expanded examination, storage, and evidence capabilities, we can assist other agencies in our surrounding area with determining the cause and manner of death in complex cases.   Our facility will also be a regional hub for Lamplight, a full-body donation tissue bank. 

The office portion of the project was completed in the Summer of 2023, giving the space needed for proper normal daily operation, organized investigations, records management, and file retention. 

Emergency Operations Center

Included in this renovation will be a fully functional Emergency Operations Center, EOC. This will be the first time in history that Crawford County has had dedicated space for an EOC.  This is key in managing disasters, both natural and manmade,  of various scale. With secure phone lines and radio communication, agency leaders can always communicate with field staff and State and Federal authorities.  This will ensure the smooth deployment of resources to areas that need it most.
